Carpet Removal and Sound Deadener Revomal

This is what I did. Takes time but comes off.

I was gonna buy one or both of those air tools but I'm trying to save pennies where I can :-(
Plus I don't trust myself not to damage the sheet metal with the air scraper dealy
 
I used the needle scaler. It took a while to figure out how to use but worked quite well.
You won't damage the metal, it's tougher than you think.
It was great on the tar like material although you have to soak the needles in mineral spirits or similar to get the tar off. It builds up.
You go at the material you want to remove by pointing the needles at it like you were going to scrape it off. It takes some pressure.
It's very noisy so I wore ear protection.
Also takes a pretty hefty air compressor which I had.

How about dry ice AND using a needle scaler? Maybe such a committed approach world scare the stuff right off!!
