I am organizing a group buy for catuned newly offered coilovers for E9s and E3s. We will need 10+ buyers to make this happen. If you want a set sign up here and at the end you can go to the site and pay. when you sign up, write in if e9 or e3. I have personally had these coilovers on my E30 and loved the balanced feel. not too harsh and not too soft. I plan to use these on my car.

Key things to know; Limited lifetime warranty We can offer custom spring rates (within reason) as well with no extra charge. group buy pricing $1,050 plus shipping $80 for welding (each person that wants welding would need to send the spindles in) But with that you would get tracking info Invoice tracking Full warranty info Etc. Going to post more pictures as this goes along.

Disclaimer: I have no first hand knowledge of this stuff but I'll regurgitate what I've learn from the experts on this site like @bdigel and @BarryG.

I don't see CATUNED's e9 solution on the site. I see what looks like a bavaria rear axle, along with 'e9' listed for fitment. The e9 springs sit on a dedicated spring pad separate from the coil. The rear shock tower is also very narrow. To do this properly you really need to have shocks set to run upside down so the springs can sit below the shock tower while also facilitating access to the adjust. You probably also want to reinforce the failure prone e9 upper shock mount, as it is now tanking the load of the coil.

Another point to elaborate with what Markos said, I would caution against running coilovers on the rear of an CS with out modifying the shock towers . If the shocks can bust though the towers in stock form imagine how much stress it would have with the spring in that location. I would imagine if they have done their homework that coil over for the rear isn't actually a coil over , probably an adj spring like Ground control sells ??

Thank-you for starting the group buy thread. Being thankful for my strut bar purchase I took part in earlier this year I can say it is an appreciated effort. I am in the market for coilovers for my E9, however I have landed on Ground Control as my choice. I did a bit of research on that last year to the point where I had all but placed the order. I do not know if you are fully committed to the CATuned as a solution, but here are the benefits I liked about Ground Control: Adjustable damper front and rear, camber plate, choice of color and overall quality of the unit. It may not be the cheapest, but I am not building a cheap car :)

I also stand by the view that I will not load up my shock tower with the weight of the car, when that space is designed to control spring dampening only.

Let's see where this goes and if there is merit to me asking Ground Control for a group buy rate.

I just called my Contact up at GC , there right up the road from me.
Let's see what comes our way.
The setup is also the same as there 02 so ask your e10 buddy's if there interested...

I have run GC on 5 of my BMWs , you can't go wrong with there quality.

I should hear back from them soon

Don't be fooled by low cost.

Barry

@BarryG is that your E9? I love the stance of that car and am interested to hear back on what you hear from Ground Control. I have sent you a PM about your wheel setup as I don't want to hijack this thread which I would rather stay focused on the Coil Over Group buy.

BarryG turned me onto Ground Control and I haven't regretted it one bit, and to be honest with you I like the ride better than the lowering springs I have on my other coupe.
