Looking for interest in the Hella LED center brake light upgrade for rear-end protection...
I sold dozens of these to folks in the 2002 and other pre-1986 / early model forums, but ran out when they became unavailable from Hella Australia; they ran out 5 years ago.
The lights are very bright, stick to the inside of the rear glass (top or bottom), draw very little and - here's the nice part- you can AIM the LED panel within up and down a small amount. This allows directing the light beam into the eyes of a majority of the drivers behind you for maximum dazzle and benefit.
It's non stock, as cars prior to 1986 had no requirement, but it is made by Hella, and is VERY effective. With the work and $$$ we put into most of our babies, it is wise insurance against idiots in trucks and SUVs. Anybody priced a pair of tail lights lately (and that is the cheap part)?
Post your comments, opinions, and interest in a possible group order here! If you decide on this, I can wire it for plug-n-play into your car without cutting crimping soldering or other disruptive adaptations. At around 2 watts it will not prove to be a disruptive load on your wiring.
Andy
PS- I also restore the tail lights themselves- restoring the 'shiny' to the reflector surfaces and upgrading to safe high output bulbs and even doubling the tail light with TWO bulbs for larger, brighter tails, and redundancy for maximum reliability and safety. No danger of melting, either!
