Center Side Panel Restoration

Guys,

Is there a specialist out there that can redo the side panels on my center console? I have a non-A/C '72. The interior guy absolutely nailed the interior, with the exception of the center panels. They're now too thick and will not rest inside the proper slot in the dash.

I've gone back and forth with him several times but at this point I just want an expert to do it and be done with it.

For me, this was the hardest part to get correct. After paying twice for someone else to do it, mine still looks like crap. I may end up going to Just Dashes. DQ's looks great.

Those panels look absolutely great. Unfortunately, I don't think I've got the talent necessary to pull it off myself.

What was the original substrate? Is it wood? Some other sort of fiberboard material?

Dc your panel and central console rebuild thread look more like sourcery to me.
