My coupe has single stage paint.
A few years ago I had my Volvo professionally ceramic coated with Opticoat. It was terrific, the car always looked clean, was easy to wash and never needed waxing.
Now I am thinking of doing that to my coupe.
Anyone have experience with single stage paint and ceramic coating?
 
Stan, Single or two stage makes no difference I believe, just need to start with a perfect finish. I am thinking of doing this to the NK. Mike is thrilled with his coating on the Nachtblau.

I’m interested in your post. One of the biggest PITA I have had to deal with is cleaning dead bugs off the front of my trailer. The surface area is huge despite being pulled by an E70.

The buildup of dead bugs is unbelievable just in a 2 hour trip home from Lime Rock. And as you know dried bug goo doesn’t come off easy. I did a coat of Nu-Finish last year ($6/bottle), which has worked well on the sides. But it doesn’t help that much with dries bug guts.

Did you do the version of Opticoat that we can buy ($60) or the professionally installed stuff ($600)? This stuff might be good on a race car too.

Professionally installed $600.
The place was about 45 minutes not the of Manchester airport so I left the car on a day I was traveling and picked it back up upon my return

There was an e31 at Southeast Sharkfest that had recently received the ceramic paint coating. It was one of three cars in the hotel lobby at the time of registration (along with a 3.0 CS and a 6 series coupe). it was GORGEOUS.
