After a disastrous begining of buying a "rustfree" car...take a look at Coupeking under projects trifive and 555...car is coming home tomorrow!!!
Just like to thank Peter for doing your best and working with me...I may not have sounded like it at times...but I am very greatful for making the project possible.
I will try posting some pictures in the near future.

Chamonix

Congratulations Abe! I am sure you will enjoy your coupe for many years to come. I was amazed at how powerful and smooth running your coupe is, and it looks superb as well. At least now you can "honestly" call it rust free.

hello everybody,
Following your experience, you're always sure to buy a "rust free" coupe but these are harder to find, as -in europe- E9 have been disregarded the 20 past years.
So rust has done its job, and over here in France, there should be less than fifty items left, out of the 600 CSi imported between 1972 and 76.
In Germany, the very birth place, I 've recently read the E9 number with MOT was around 4 or 500 cars.
.....so few !
But the Graal exists !
Here is a picture-some of you may know- of the 3 BMW 2800CS built in 1969 by the Deutsche Edelstahlwerke AG in Krefeld.
Yes, E9 in stainless steel ! The perfect protection against the enemy !!

One car was bought by a private owner, crashed, and parts spread around.
A second can still be seen at the Deutsche Museum In Munich near the river Isar.
..the faith of the 3rd one is unknown .
So let's dream !!! Why not one day, in a barn ?
..............The ultimate rust free E9 !!.

Drove the car home....60 miles + went to Ventura and back home, another 60 miles. Car is really really sweat....told it was a high compression engine and let me tell you....the puppy got spunk!
Coupeking did a great job in restoring this car....better than I thought in my limited budget.
I am happy now....

Abe,

Congrats and welcome to the corral of CoupeKing alumni. We've got a few here in the EastCoast. Post pics of your coupe and your wide grin when you get a chance.

I've made a few changes since my delivery. Check the link to one of your Coupeking brethren:

It will be interesting if you can succeed in keeping it as delivered, or whether you tinker with perfection...

Good luck,

Chuck

I too drove my Chamonix and red coupe home.
3200 miles and ran like a champ.
A few years and a few modifications later I am still delighted!

Abe -

I saw your car during some of the early restoration work and after paint. Quite a difference.

My car, Zoltan has been home from Coupe King for a mere two months. Going back this week for some fine tuning. I too am happy with Peter's work and would refer him without hesitation.

CoupeKing Kudos

FYI and FWIW--to the E-9 owners here--my comments are as a long time customer as recently as two weeks ago.

I met Peter about 20 years ago shortly after he became afflicted with the "Coupe Disease". Between Peter and his key guy Jesus--there is now over 40 years of hands on in depth Coupe experience with every facet of evaluation of condition, dis-assembly--renewing and restoring every single detail or improving same and of the materials and many little things--and some major things that will make them perform better and have greater durability.

As one of the longest continuous Coupe owners--now over 37 years--with over a half million seat miles in Coupes--every time I visit the CoupeKing facility I learn something new from either Peter or Jesus or both.

If ever needed I would not hesitate having them re-hab the BLUMAX.
