I would like the Forum’s opinion regarding hood and fender grilles. My car had black which I think is correct for a late 73 but earlier dark paints had chrome grilles. Shawn Hanson’s former 72 Malaga had chrome and it definitely has more bling.

The Forum doesn’t like portrait mode iPhone pics!

Black, for the contrast with the trim, and the chrome hood grills.

FWIW, my 73 came stock with black, very nice against the Taiga. I guess it is the usual, personal preference and what was OEM for the color. My E3 is riviera blue and chrome is it, black would look horrible.

The grilles only serve a purpose to jazz things up. I think black only works if it's contrasting quite a bit. Chrome works either way.

Black looks best with Taiga. My 72CSI originally had chrome side, hood, kidney grille and wipers and I switched them all to black.
