Chrome or Black

My dad sold brass decorative hardware to the furniture industry here in NC for many years. He used to say not to ruin a great suit with a bad tie.
That said, either would look great on that paint.

In my opinion, a proper black foil should be placed under every fender grille... ;-)

Jon, I have the black foil I just stuck the grilles there gently for a photo op.

My second choice would be one color on each side, inspired by the latin music genre:

Chrome is for me the best choice
