@eriknetherlands ok sounds good, so if I’m reading you correctly, I can replace my rusty fog light stem bolt with a zinc treated bolt in an effort to reduce the rust staining, but overall that rust staining of the bolt is a likely future event and is better than the rust developing elsewhere. In addition, isolating the bolt from the bumper might help as well. Any advantage to some of the polishes which have some wax in them as a rust preventative? I wax my bicycle chains and while the wax does eventually wear away and require reapplication, those chains are overall less rusty than the chains I used to just lube/grease. Hoping the same might apply here.
