Early cars had a ball stud between the clutch slave and throwout bearing that the clutch fork pivots on, the stud is mounted on the trans input shaft housing and extends through a hole in the bell housing. Anyone know off the top of your head if that stud is press-fit into the input shaft housing/cover, or is it threaded?

I think this is the part you are looking for. My friend needed to replace his in a '79 733 and I believe he said it comes right out, or at least his did. Looks like no threads, but I wasn't there.
