cold start valve

Are you asking about the cold start fuel injector or the auxillary air valve? If the former presumably any service that cleans injectors could check out. And if needs replaced, that part is shared with a bunch of 80s models.

If asking about the auxillary air valve, can direct you to online info. My impression is that pulling apart properly and cleaning will help in many cases.

Good luck resolving. And let us know what experience is. Good to learn from fellow d jet owners... Paul

well I removed the Cold start valve, cleaned it as much as possible with injector clean, then made some leads too power it from a 12v battery... reconnected it to the fuel line (make sure youhave previously blocked up/off the line when you remove the CSV).. Then put CSV into a plastic container and crank the starter ... Mine sprayed a fairly good cone shaped spray..mybe could be a bit stronger but I think ok..... Put back together and waited till next morning and it fired up after two 5 -7 second turns of the ignition.. It was even better this cold morning (it was taking 4-5 turns !) So my conclusion is that it has been worthwhile and a lot cheaper then $250 Aussie for a new valve..

A OLD parts guy here told me that most of these valves are sold unnecessarily, and all they need is a good clean ... It seems he may be right !!

I need more info on the auxillary air valve. I have a 74 euro 3.0csi that dies on idle. We have been looking for a valve or better yet, an electronic valve that could be put into the car. We rebuilt the existing valve and the car idles now but this is not a long-lasting solution. We have not been able to find a source for the electronic valve. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help.
