While cleaning out my attic, I found a complete set of mufflers for 70 E9 2800cs
which I had stored 35 years ago. Both my coupes have custom built Stainless
steel exhaust systems, so I don't need the originals anymore. The part numbers are.

Front Muffler 18121102836 cost online $890 ~ $1060 sell for $700
Rear muffler 18121104641 cost online $620 ~ $730 sell for $475
Exhaust Pipe 18111104642 cost online $ 73 ~ $ 85 sell for $ 55
Exhaust Pipe
Front 123 18111246262 cost online $122 ~ $138 sell for $100
Exhaust Pipe
Front 456 18111246255 cost online $122 ~ $138 sell for $100

I also have the front muffler 18121107884 and Center Silencer
18121107891 for E9 3.0cs. Online $410 and $180. will sell both for $500
$1800 plus shipping takes all. Please PM me.
The parts are relatively rust free.
The orange marks on the pipes is from the BMW parts tag which was glued to them
I would rather sell all the parts to one person, less shipping problems.

I might be interested at a much lower price...

You say the stuff has a little rust so it is not like brand new anymore...

I might be interested in buying the 3.0cs and maybe everything but the prices you are quoting are retail...

Most of us get at least 20% off retail from the BMW dealer and much more from the outside suppliers...

Let me know

Now they are rust free. The slight surface rust was removed with a cleaning pad
to clean metal and repainted. Send me a PM with a price that you think is fair and we'll see
if I agree.

Normally the cost for parts is 30% of the cost at the dealer...

It seems like most hard parts (engine, trans electrical etc) that are still available are usually offered at around 25%-30% of what they cost new at the dealer...

I have watched a lot of BMW parts that should have sold like bumpers, trim and other stuff NOT SELL until the prices were lowered to the 20% of new range... Look on ebay today there are numerous NOS items that have been for sale for over a year with no takers...

Unless they are ultra RARE parts that are NLA (no longer available) and highly desirable... In those situations you "MIGHT" get 50% of new...

Plus it appears that most BMW guys are not buying too many parts to save for just in case they need them...

Even the Porsche guys will only pay around 30%-40% of dealer price...

Hey, wait a minute

Jeff,

So does that mean you'll sell me a pair of "as new" not-pitted tail lights for $365? That's 40% of new. Just sayin'

Bill, Yes! I would sell a pair of Tail Lights for $365... "IF" I had an extra pair!

If I had a pair of tail lights that I wanted to sell I think that I would actually ask for less like $175 each or $350 for a pair...

As you know they are offered on ebay occasionally for around $150 for the pair. You just have to keep on top of it...

As a current example of the ridiculous dealer prices vs. what some one will actually pay in the real world, I will use Mercedes SL65 AMG wheels...

At the Mercedes dealer if you wanted new SL65 19 inch 2 piece wheels they would cost you around $2,600 EACH!!! That is over $10,000 for a set of damn wheels... Crazy eh?

BUT, if you are smart like most car guys are you know that if you shop around that you can find the EXACT SAME FACTORY MERCEDES WHEELS for less, A LOT LESS... In this case you can buy a NEW set of ORIGINAL (OEM)MERCEDES BENZ WHEELS for around $2,500 or a like new take-off set for about $1,500... So that means that new wheels can be bought at 25% of the dealers price or less.

Want to really talk about INSANE prices?

The Wheels on the Mercedes SLR cost $7,500 EACH!!! That is $30,000 for a set of PHUCKING wheels... The wheels are NOT Titanium or CF any special alloy but they do have blades designed to suck air from under the car for ground effects... And each wheel has the blades going in the forward direction... Meaning there is a specific wheel for each corner of the car...

I have a set of SLR Wheels on my SL65 and they cost me $2,500 for all (4)... That works out to be 8% of the dealer price... I actually scored a second set just in case for even less...

BTW
Hows the Car coming?

BimBill, I just went on ebay and bought this NOS muffler for $130

BimBill,

To make sure that I was not crazy (which I am)

I was just poking around today on ebay and found a NOS front muffler for $130 so I bought it... I still want an extra rear muffler... Maybe we can make a deal?

Cms might of been better posting cost and let guys offer a price by PMing. If in the market for part I would rather buy from one you because the profit usually goes to making a better e9 for all of us.
