One more item that the previous owner didn't get around to finishing: A condenser fan was installed as well as a relay. But the relay did not have the 'command' circuit completed. I installed Dakota Digital's programable fan controller over the weekend. I used one previously on a 1957 Alfa Romeo Giulietta when deleting the fixed metal fan (before it had the opportunity to come apart). Easy to progam and modify via Bluetooth.

The DD controller allows you to choose cut-in and cut-out temps and it uses A/C clutch or engine temp to turn on fan, no need for a diode. Especially nifty is that it can use your existing single wire temp sensor. You don't need to install a dedicated sensor. After a simple 'learning' process, the existing temp sender readings are stored in the controller. It also has a time selectable 'run on with key off' mode. That was really helpful on the Alfa with twin Weber DCO3's (not DCOE's) on hot restart, where fuel flooding was annoying. My E9 with S52 engine swap is injected, so flooding isn't an issue, but I still use the 'run-on when hot' when key is turned off. The cars with triple Weber's might benefit.

Now that the fan runs when A/C is on OR when temp hits my set point, I learned I'll need to swap out the straight blade pusher fan. Noisier than the wind machines in the vineyard behind our house!

Is the SPAL # 30102056 14" pusher still the fan of choice??

the spal fan is a 14" pusher fan with curved blades part number 30102056 - so the answer to you question is yes, that has been the go-to fan of choice.
