Coupe Ancestry Project - 3.0 CS (USA)

<edit 8-21-24 - the original file has been deleted ... please see post 3 of this thread and you will find the new pdfs>

okay, this is the next post regarding 3.0 CS in the coupe ancestry project ... we will be following with the 3.0 CSA (USA) separately.
If you own a 3.0 CS, please look at the lists to find your VIN in one of the sections (seen in ads / no recent information / latest information / recently verified / gone forever.
if you find your VIN, but something is wrong with the location / color ... or if your coupe is resting in peace (no longer with us) ... please drop me a line or add a post to this thread. If your VIN isn't on this list, or if the date precedes your ownership / location is different, please send me a PM and we will add you to the list. Please notice that we only have info on 572 of the 2557 - USA 3.0 CS ... we would like to know more. If you know of a 3.0 CS that is no longer with us, please let me know that. Please see the attached pdf.

here are our objectives - to find out all we know about
VIN (still living / on the road, gone forever / parts cars)
Color
Location (general, at most city / region + country)

what we aren't trying to ascertain - how original / what changes / restored or not ... if you want to provide any other info, we will keep it in the spreadsheet.
what we aren't going to do - we will NOT distribute or publish any information regarding owner, specific location.

There are 5 sections to this VIN post
1. cars that have been listed for sale at some point (auction or website)
2. cars with no verified or recent information
3. cars with the most recent information (dated) - last known country and last known color
4. cars with recently verified information (nothing else needed - this is a small list)
5. cars that are gone forever

THANKS for your participation
scott
I have 1970 2800cs 2270266 manual nachtblau white leather no sun roof numbers matching mostly origins third owner have much more info. Dales Dale Huff

thanks Dale, i only have a little bit of information on this car - it was built 22 may 1970 and was originally purchased in Oregon. i show that Richard Neely owned it in Farmington, NM in 2018 ... it was always Nachtblau. but that's all i know.

4310122 is now mine. I bought it from Hassan Ezz out of San Clemente, CA on 07/10/2024. He bought it when he saw it at Frank's Motorcars in Laguna Beach CA while it was being worked on. Mark Paz was the owner at the time. From the receipts, it looks like it lived its life in CA until I bought it. It is now in beautiful Coeur D'Alene, ID. Stored in Winters. Some shops of interest that everybody on here knows (minus one or two) that have had their hands on it over the years are most notably: Carl Nelson from La Jolla Independent, Jeff Tighe (T&P Motors), WeldTech Inc., Frank's Motorcars in Laguna Beach, CA and here locally one of best BMW Independent shops, Inland Northwest Performance (INW Performance). Nachtblau Metallic w/ blue leather interior. Rear seats were reupholstered, front seats new foam, new headrests, fairly rust free being a CA car and good caregivers over the years, front air dam (bumber removed), and Euro rear bumper. Other than the BBS Style 5 wheels pretty stock w/ Webers, and Petri steering wheel. Original 4-speed and numbers matching w/ sunroof and H1/4 headlamps (not pictured). Splitters and Motorsport stripes. Planning some work to suspension upgrades including shocks, sway bars, struts front and rear and looking into a rear CSL lip spoiler and stainless exhaust/muffler and most likely some headers. Will update photo when some of that is complete. 26 Feb 1974 build date and the original color was Nachtblau.

okay guys, i've made it through a round of editing of the USA 3.0 CS and just like the 2800 cs, i have some questions on a few names that look familiar as well as whether some cars are still with some familiar members. please confirm here or send me a PM if you still have the car or if you have any info about the person / car ... there is a good chance that there were some typos in some of the registries that lead to a couple of duplications of similar VIN like NYDesmo and T-raz

Car is definitely Fjord. IMHO, one of the better liveries. When the car came over to the USA it was Polaris with black leather and a CSA. Coupe King modified it to a 5Speed manual, switched interior to dark blue leather, and repainted car to Fjord. Hope this explanation doesn’t confuse your mission.

Should also note we’re doing an engine transplant/upgrade to an S38b36 bored out to 4.2L. Will have a spare 3.5L from a 635CSI guessing later production for sale. Had a prospective buyer who went in a different direction. Am flexible as to sale disposal of engine. My car, Blueberry, is located in ChicagoLand. Buyer would be responsible for freight of the 3.5L. Engine can be rebuilt here to blueprint. Price subject to negotiation. That S38 is projected to put out near 450hp, what a Monster it will be!

all good, i track the original color, but note what the current color is. fjord has the 2nd highest quantity of coupes, polaris has the highest. both look great

Agree. I just seem to drool and melt around E9’s in Fjord with Dk Blue or Tan Leather Interiors. Don’t know what my problem is. I do enjoy our Polaris 2002tii, even more so now that we put A/C into it. Thinking of relocating it to Florida. Think it would be a blast to zip around all those geriatrics in their Marquis/Crown Vics. That Bavaria of ours isn’t quite ready to take on the Interstates quite yet. Has all the bones but needs those Zenith’s to be rebuilt, more like re-jeweled. 13K original miles, verified by bonified paper trail. Owned by a BMW Mechanic in MI who had to cross the Border to Windsor, ON to buy it. His dealer couldn’t get one quick enough back in ‘72. Bavaria in agave w/Saddle is freaking gorgeous.
