Coupe Ancestry project - summary

RHD 2800cs and 3.0cs have not been overlooked, they are part of the 220, 221, 222 + 223 series (approximately 15000 cars) which is more than i can take on at this time. my project takes on roughly half 13,000 +/-. if anybody wants to take on the other half of the project, i will gladly help them with anything i can do - i will tell you that it takes a lot of time
there is no link to any e9 registry in this project and is likely that there never will. this is a project to try to see if we can find out how many cars are still living and how many are not. it is also about tracking coupe history - finding out who previously owned cars / where cars spent their lives. as such it is limited by the amount of information that is out there. i have been through the original e9 register, the e9driven registry and the one that is currently on e9coupe.

yes, it is in the project. this car was owned in1990 by Ronald Vlack in White Plains, NY and was sold on BaT in 7/2023 out of Catamet, MA. the car was originally grey and was repainted Sahara at some point. would like to know who owns the car and what town / city they reside in (please send me a DM).

No, not associated with csregistry ... just a moderator of e9coupe as a private project that will share basic information but do my best not to share a person's name (unless its their e9coupe alias.
okay yours is not a CS, its a RHD CSiA and i have 11 or the 215 cars in the project ... so send me the information and i will put it in. i need the vin, the color, the original color any previous owner information that you have and where in Australia do you live. if you know the original build date or where it was delivered, that is also good info to have. one last thing, when did you buy it.

i have added 2 things to the summary (in post 1) that might be of interest to people. they have to do with color ...
1. there is a summary of all of the cars in the project sorted by color.
2. there is a summary of color by each model car in the summary.
basically 25% of all coupes in the project are Polaris, followed by Fjord (14%), Chamonix, Baikal, Nachtblau, Verona + Malaga. these colors account for approx. 65% of all coupes.
it is interesting to see the differences by model. the colors of RHD CSi are radically different percentages than the LHD CSi, which is very similar to the USA 2800cs + 3.0cs.

I have a CS not a CSI. Delivered new to Melbourne, Australia in 1974 to the Victorian state premier, Rupert Hamer. I am the 4th owner, and it’s now located in Sydney, Australia. Manufactured in May 1974, VIN 4330174 and Chamonix in colour.
i found some errors in my excel spreadsheet - i have gone through and checked every color tab for each car in the project. this changed the color summaries slightly ... i also added one other summary, color groupings
1. silver / light grey
2. light blues (fjord, baikal, etc)
3. chamonix / schwarz (black + white)
4. the 4 shades of red
5. the dark blues
6. the orange shades
7. the deeper greens
8. the yellows
9. the bright greens

i have just updated the 3.0 CSL (carb / 2275 / bat 1 + bat 2) sections, along with the VIN summary and color summary. spent a lot of time looking through several registries and tried to find all of the latest information that i could find. of all the different series cars that i have worked on, we now have 2773 cars known at some time or another which represents 20.44% of the 13,567 cars built in these series.

so anybody out there with a RHD CSL, i am working on that series of 500 cars. we currently know of 303 of the 500, which is 60.6% of the built cars ... this is the highest percentage of any series i am tracking.
so please take a look at the RHD CSL summary and see if i have your car. if you haven't sent me any information, please do. i am tracking VIN, location, color, previous and current owners. i will not publish your name and have been editing city information out, leaving region / state + country.

i have uploaded the RHD CSL pdf (see post 1) along with the updates to the summary and the color summary. we now know of 339 out of 500 RHD CSL <67.8%> ... with 141 cars verified in the 2020s. this is the highest percentage of any of the e9 series <except the 21 factory race cars>

we have updates to 2800cs / csa, 3.0cs / csa, 3.0 csi + 3.0 csi (RHD) ... as well as the summary. check the pdfs in post #1 of this thread.
i have posted all received updates in post #1 of this thread. we now have 2,844 coupes since May 2025, that's a total of 20.96% of the 13,567 coupes covered in the project ... lets keep the information coming

i have posted the December updates in post #1 of this thread. you will find that we have been working on the total numbers (including the series not being collected within the project). that may change in 2026 as we will likely start collecting that information.

225057, 3.0CS, Baikal, originally auto trans now 5-speed, inoperative living in my garage in Honolulu. Originally from California, through another Hawaii resident, to me in about 1985.
I know of only one other coupe still in Hawaii, partly b/c I've lost track of several or they've returned to the mainland. The car is Malaga and has been sitting among a group of apparently abandoned cars in a driveway, not far from me. Don't know the owner or any back story.

Are you sure about the grey? I saw no signs of grey, but Nevada appeared to be the original, later painted Sahara. I thought it an ugly duckling and rough, so Charmonix now.

hmmm ... you are missing a digit in the VIN.
2250057 i have a listing from June 1985, car was schwarz and lived in Woodmere, NY
2250157 i have a listing from sept 1990 in Groton, CT and it was polaris ... and later lived in Pittsburgh, PA
2250257 was a rolling shell in 2013 was put on ebay and lived in Raleigh, NC
2250357 - i have no listing
2250457 - i show is owned by you, but i didn't have a color ... so presumably this is you
i am not sure about grey ... that was what was posted in a post on CS Registry. Nevada was a light green / grey ... so i suppose somebody just saw it as grey. i will add Nevada as the original color as that is much more definitive than grey.
