So we're walking into the Augustiner-Keller bier garten (Arnulfstrasse) tonight at 20:00 local time and a nice what looked to be Baikal coupe cruised by. My family encouraged me (snickering) to run after him but I have my dignity (actually the lights were all green).

A member here by chance?

This is a really long shoot Steve :-)
Actually I would like any of our original (not google translate :-) ) German speaking member should pass this spotting to any of the German E9 forums. I've earlier been lurking around some German E9 forums but what I've seen there are not that active...?

Wow, I would have such a vision after having the beers.
Green light or not Stan would have tackled him to get the VIN.

Enjoy the trip. I am in Shanghai and if I see a coupe I will quit drinking.

yes, if while in shanghai i see a coupe, i will take the first plane back home, i will close the door and prepare to die

incidentally, we will see that in the near future, you know, but they will not be that old, not a plus forty year old car, but probably some months old only

be aware...

steve, great spotting, in over two decades traveling to germany almost every two months, i hve seen a coupe running in th street only once ! the lights were green also,...a pity

We've covered a lot of ground (around 1500 km so far) the vintage cars I've seen are the coupe, a pagoda Merc, a Ghibli, and an early 911, otherwise not a lot on the road despite perfect weather. Strangely enough, driving from Salzburg to Fussen through a small town I saw a turquoise '59 Cadillac convertible and a late '60's Cadillac hard top both on the move within 2 blocks - go figure.

Driving through the Alps and small towns I noticed the motorcycles rule the roads-having their way weaving through traffic and curves, but on the Autobahns the big sedans rule - Merc, BMW, and lots of Audis blew past me in my pegged VW Touran diesel.

Saw another one

Heading out of Nurnburg on the A3 towards Munich came a Verona coupe as we were headed in the opposite direction - pretty cool. Perhaps it was Arde in the parallel universe?

There will be some serious talk with my boys when I am back form China if the odometer proves they did it.
