Coupe Wiring

A while back I posted photos of under dash relays and plan on creating a FAQ so these are easier to find. I have pics of my 5/73 and a 12/74 e9 but would like 72 3.0CS as well as 2800CS. Build dates will help and pics will need to be emailed to me unless a can save from a post. After helping a friend yesterday I became frustrated as the blue book diagrams as well as the tiny owner’s manual version don’t always match what is in the car which I find strange but typical of BMW. I will include pdf copies of the diagrams as well which can be saved to a thumb drive and taken to Kinkos and enlarged. Thanks everyone.

This is a fantastic way to support the future owners/operators on the forum!!!! Thanks for the legwork. I have pictures of my 70 but unfortunately is no longer stock and of no use.
High quality pics like this would have been unbelievably helpful compared to the hours I spent interpreting German translated schematics. Couldn't tell you how many times I misread the color abbreviations.

Thanks for posting this Chris. It is massively frustrating to try to track down electrical problems, particularly as you note when you start out with the owners manual diagrams. This stuff helps immensely.

I have been trying to help Roger in New York sort out his wiring as he reassembles two coupes. The wiring diagrams are hard to read sometimes and if you have a 73 1/2 when window motors/switches/circuit breakers were added you have to use the early diagram as well as the 74 diagram. There are...

This would be so helpful! Especially having their functions depicted.

Having zero electrical skills and confidence, I worry about removing my harness. What do all those black boxes/ shiny cylinders do anyway???

As an example, just a pic of last weekend, showing that I just labelled a box as "B".
For me they are all UFO's
