Anyone know about this photo?
Looks to maybe be in the Bay area.

Sorry, don't know about the photo, but I was going to guess from the building that is visible through the fog that the photo was taken at Pepperdine in Malibu. To be fair, I probably left SoCal around the time the photo was taken (judging from the clothes!) Maybe one of the locals can deny/confirm?

I'm told that the image was part of the 1988 Malibu Coupe Tour. (The t-shirt says: Malibu Coupe Tour '88) So, yes the background is Pepperdine. Can't confirm whether the BluMax was in attendance.

Route: Meet at Topanga Canyon main Post Office (via Topanga Canyon Blvd south off the 101, or PCH north). Depart around 11am, up Fernwood Pacific and along Tuna Canyon, Saddle Peak, Schueren and Piuma roads into Malibu Canyon, then out to the coast and north on Pacific Coast Highway through Malibu to Sycamore Cove State Park. State park entry fee: $4 per car.

Who was invited: All BMW 2800 CS and 3.0 CS owners — 3200 CS and 2000 CS owners also welcome.

Extras: New Coupe shirts were available for the event.

Attendance: Not reported. No follow-up article or recap appears in any subsequent issue. The registry only contains the advance announcement. The prior year’s Coupefest at Monterey (a separate event) drew 70 coupes, mentioned by Richardson as context, but no attendance figure is given for the Malibu tour itself.
