I had a new owner stop by today with his 74 CSi and she is a beauty. This is the Marilyn Wegweiser coupe that Peder Mansson recently sold to him. Very correct and solid as well, I really like Granatrot. It drives very nicely and has a dog-leg five speed, I need to find out what diff is in it as well.

Love the Granatrot, earlier wheels and small bumpers. Hate to clog the forum with CA specific Q but is it registered in CA and if so how did that come about? Hope to see it at a meet soon, it’s a beauty!

Great question! The buyer is very lucky, he went to DMV and filed a YOM application as well and DMV sent him to CHP for VIN verification. CHP drove it around back without the owner to make sure it wasn't a Salvage (pretty strange to me) and found the matching chassis and motor VINs, the inspector had been a BMW mechanic and loved the car! It had no DOT/EPA sticker obviously but he didn't care.

Every trip to the CA DMV is a new and different experience depending on who’s behind the counter. Lucky for sure!
If there’s a waiting list for prospective next owners I would like to be on it

The owner is having window switch issues, does anyone have a pic like this? Some of the pin receivers were removed. Does anyone have spare bakelite receiver block with wires extending they could sell?

Beautiful Coupe.
Isn't Peder in Sweden?
Murray sold my Colorado CSi to him.

with a dogleg, probably a LSD 3.07 ?

Chris:

And what would the CHP have done if they found it had a "salvage" title? Is the State no longer allowing title transfers on salvage-titled vehicles? You can probably guess why I care.

So has the DMV re-opened its offices?

It wasn’t if it had a salvage title, they would have added salvage to the title if they felt it had been severely damaged and repaired, they had it on a lift.

This is pilfered from a 7er in some junk yard. It’s nylon, not Bakelite. It does fit a’74 switch just fine though. And maybe it will just donate its pins. Do Chris or John want to PM me a mailing address? Free + free shipping to a deserving ‘74.

Thank you, John used the MB ones he found and now we know the front switches are wired uniquely for the sardine can motors.

my co-worker had a 74 granarot tii that he always said looked better than my 76 anthracite. he was right. both great colors for the "new" 2002s from 74-76.
