Film shows difference between long and short throw shifts. When shortening shift points by lengthening the shaft between shift points, your sideways shift angle has to grow. In other words, you have to move the gearshift lever further sideways with a longer shift point. Some personal preference and physical limits are at play. These shifters are extra long but don't grow to where added sideways movement is required. Extra distance is required due to this alone.
I would say this shifter probably has a somewhat standard or maybe even a reduced shift point. Additional enhancement at shift points (rod ends) might be required. Any racers out there to debunk?
