I don't know how many people followed this story over the summer http://www.e9coupe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11852 , but the story was just published in the February 2013 issue of Bimmer Magazine. Helmut Werb did a fantastic job on the story and his photos of the car were just amazing. I hope to never be under that kind of pressure again, but I am sure it will find me. I just thought I would share it with the group since it pertains to coupes!

Helmuut Werb--

+2 He did the BLUMAX in late 2011 for the second article appearing in Bimmer Mag about BLUMAX--great photos and a solid story writer.

The first article about BLUMAX appeared in Bimmer Mag in late 2004

Got my Bimmer issue yesterday. Nice article and beautiful car. I'm so glad I got to see it at Monterey. You did a great job on this car Ron.

I've owned 2 coupes over the past 25 years and have never seen a CSL in the flesh - Bat or otherwise :(

It was great meeting you and your wife, Gary. It was a bit hectic getting the car there, but we all had a great time!

I feel extremely blessed that I have the backing from my equity partner that is always anxious to find and fund another project. Without him, none of this would have ever happened! If you are reading this, Bill...thank you again!

After 5 CSL's that have either went on their way, or on the way out, we are now seeking an M1!!! Can't wait for that one.

Ron congrats on the excellent job on the Rahal car. It's amazing what you and your crew accomplished in the short window you had.

Whey did this car have cut outs for the front bumper, as it was one of the 110 Mk1 Bats ?

Are there any photos of the car including the full rear bat wing without middle support.

I don't know about the front bumper cutouts. The only thing I can guess is that someone ordered the car with a front bumper, or it was added later. I had the holes welded shut so it is now correct. This car was delivered new in Germany and it was equipped with aluminum hood, doors, and trunk. Therefore, it is my assumption that it never had any of the "Aero Kit" installed on the car as they were not allowed to mount the wing on a Germany delivered car and would not have put a wing on an aluminum trunk.

Hi Ron,

The M1 is always interesting. If you need help with the VINs/engine nrs, colors, special orders etc of the M1, I might be able to help.

Cheers
Henric

Great article and amazing what you got done in 4 months. I now get what the CSL benefit is ...400 pounds is a whole other animal.
