CSL for sale

6000 km ... must have been 60 km to the dealer for oil change every year.:D

PS btw, my factory brand new M30B35 engine must have meanwhile also something like 6000 km ! :)

Yeah, at this price level they could add proper L&R stainless wipers instead of L&L black ones & at least standard petri 38

Far too many obvious flaws for a car in this price range……
The classic car dealership Mirbach is a top notch company with reputation, surprisingly the BMW 327 Cabriolet costs 100K less than the CSL….check out the 327, looks spectacular to me!

one would expect just the opposite prices....... i would prefer the 327...... any day.

Check out their inventory, only one 1967 Ferrari is more expensive than the CSL, literally every other car is cheaper! That’s just mind boggling.

mind boggling ? .... or proof of a CSL " bubble" ?

both I’d say……o_O for us who bought our CSLs 2-3 decades ago, these are unbelievable numbers specially for city pack cars. Even though, between asking and getting are two different entities.

i always compare that to Austin Healey's..... many years ago , one sold for 60k and suddenly there were 100 ads for 60k Healey's.... i could understand , who wanted to keep his Healey if he could get 60k for it..... after all , "he" bought it for 20k.... but... years later there were still the same ads.

It was listed on Anamera.com in 2010 for Eur.50'000.00 with 95000km and in 2009 on a different website with 94500km.

wow, good invest over 10 years.... if it gets sold of course.
Do odometers spin backwards in storage out of plain boredom ? :D

@tferrer , good color for these, no? When I realized #177 had been treated to a color change it was always my intention to set it right.

Interesting that it was a citypack car but now sports a bumperless front valence, airdam and rear spoiler. I notice the rear spoiler lacks the very specific roundel, too.

Just glancing at the photos I see several incorrect details, so that's a lot of dosh for a "comprehensive restoration".

For me - looking on the quality of body and some details - I'm sure it is original Karmann assembly. ;-)

Who from professional shops would release body in such condition? Not many.

Seriously, I'm just a little disappointed with the quality of restoration. But maybe "to keep Karmann quality" was the key.

What's the story behind this cover with the orange sticker over the blower motor? I has an extra circular hump, on the flat, horizontal area. the edge of it is covered byt he hood support rod.

All e9 covers that I've seen sofar have been flat in that area. To check myself i've googled 'e9- engine bay', and the first 30 covers that appear are all flat as well.

Why the extra strange shape?

For comparision, random image of the web: see how flat the cover is?

hahhaha, just see it on that site.... ok, nowadays it is 70k .

btw, aren't all those asking prices about x2 ... x1.5 to be realistic ???

The yellow sticker is ‘original parts’ which I believe to be only on face lift cars and on the inner left fender.
The hump is very odd Indeed and looks like it’s intended. All I can think of is, maybe something special for Angola, an extra blower or some kind of air filter?

The full listing as our Canadian friend pointed out.

I can only imagine this extremely exotic and expensive car arriving into the home of one of the dictator's supporters in 1973, while the country was the front line for the Cold War, with right wing forces backed by the USA and South Africa battling Communist forces backed by the USSR and China. There were 300,000 Portuguese citizens living there in the early 70s. By 1975, IIRC, the Portuguese had left. I have heard stories that they took as much of the infrastructure that they had built back with them--like ripping up the phones lines and power poles. Marxism was implemented, with the usual disastrous results.
