CSL sold for $85k at Broad Arrow Auctions

Ahhhh... this s the one that has visible "crinkles" (ie body filler) in many of the panels. Looks pretty, but as Chris said its gonna need a ton of love and money. Not a bad deal for a driver and king of the local car show bragging rights! :)
 
the more i look at this car, i understand why it took so long to get it sold. i'm thinking that @tferrer 's chamonix should have an easier time of reaching a better number.

I sure hope you are right! There's definitely different levels of drivers, and I'd like to think my car would drive much better but regardless that looks painful for the seller. All about who's in the room.
 
I was watching this car and figured it would be a steal. It’s a little rough but IMO a great car.

The carb CSL’s regularly under perform. I mean they are the lightest CSL and equally as rare as the batmobile. They just doing auction well. My personal favorite for many reasons. I’ve always considered them someone’s second CSL in a stable. One really needs to understand CSL history before these start to become alluring.

Agreed, @tferrer 's CSL has a better ownership provenance and it's overall condition is superior to the this one. So it should do well on BaT.
I wonder if the Broad Arrow CSL would have had a better result on BaT?
 
LOTS of crinkles in the body. Shame they a) didn't try to fix the body, which is a mess (including the doors and trunk don't look like the are properly fitted), and b) didn't bother to clean up the other parts: coolant tank, washer tank, air filter, door switches.. No number on the Karmann plate (?). Looks pretty slap dash to me.
