I am more an enthusiast than anything, but I believe the list below to be the 5 main steering wheels that were issued for use on CSL’s. It took some concerted effort to find nice examples of all these, but I think it was well worth it! A quick description of each, but as I said I am sure most of you all here have much more expertise on these:
1) 380mm Momo Alpina black - the standard issue early carbed CSL steering wheel. May have stacked MoMo logo or Made in Italy on back.
2) 380mm Momo Alpina silver - same wheel as the black version only this appears to have been made in an extremely limited number. Only a handful known to exist including one that was seen in pictures of the Broadspeed CSL.
3) 380mm Petri leather wrapped with the longer 4-rib hub - standard issue for injected CSL. This leather wrapped version was quite a bit of an upgrade from the standard vinyl Petri Sport wheel and only came in 380mm size with a special longer hub.
4) 380mm Italvolante ATI-3 Motorsport wheel. Came with a removable center bolster that included a Motorsport emblem sticker.
5) 380mm Momo Alpina B2 B2S GR2 steering wheel. Probably the most special and rare CSL Alpina steering wheels to exist used only on a handful of very special CSL's. It is a massively deep 85mm dish - likely to add strength to this Alpina race wheel used by BB himself as well as Niki Lauda and others. Another example of stunning handmade craftsmanship of the early Momo wheels and the earliest A38 prototype.
