Hi,
I hope I have understood you correctly. I think I might have a picture that shows the CSL trunk lid support rod but I do not know how to post a picture on this forum, The picture is of the open trunk of my 72 CSL which has been stored in my garage while I was working abroad. The Picture is 2.4MB and shows both sides so hopefully it should give you the detail you require. Since I am pretty new to this forum I am not even sure how to email the JPG to you.
Cheers
Graeme
It occurred to me that maybe you are talking about the front Hood support (or "Bonnet support" for us Brits), if you are, then regrettably I do not have any pictures of this area of the car. Perhaps someone else out there can help?
Hi there Graeme, I think the poster is refering to the rod that supported the boot on some left hand drive csls which was similar to the bonnet arrangement on 'all' csls. None of mine have the boot prop but I fancy putting it on one as the springs are cumbersome.
Rather than starting a new thread, I thought I would ask here.
I have an Aluminium trunk lid and would like to reproduce the support rod close to the original style. I have a couple of questions maybe someone could help with. Many thanks to anyone who has a moment to answer!
What is the length of the rod from A - B
What is the diameter of the rod? Looks like about 6mm?
What is the material? Stainless steel?
Any further pictures that may be of help are also appreciated, thank you very much!
