I like the discussion of the Italian influence. I had come across some Italian designs that looked similar but didn't know about the 3200cs being designed by an ex Bertone designer.

Way, back Art and Marilyn got their (his or hers I don't remember) into an Italian car show, are at least an event which that time featured Italian cars, by demonstrating that early coupe drawings were the product of one Mr. Michelotti who as it turns out did other early Bimmers as well (700 coupe?). Was he ex-Bertone? I dunno.
