Cure for crooked handbrake lever?

The finger grips keep your fingers positioned exactly at the bottom instead of over to the right when you pull up

It means that you end up going straight up instead of over to the left

okay since we are talking about the finger grip handle ... what is the best way to get this grip to slide onto the handle. mine went a certain distance (halfway) and then hit the friction point of refusal. appreciate any insight, my guess was to use some kind of lubricant ... i tried a little spray of wd40 but that worked halfway

OK, so it's an ergonomic thing. I still think that using heavier gauge metal in the lever and mount would have been a better solution.

Yes, I had the same problem. I used spray silicone as the lubricant, but with the same result. I used an appropriately-sized socket as a mandrel, and gently tapped it on the rest of the way with a hammer.

Softening the plastic with a heat gun might have helped too, though I always worry about bubbling the plastic with excessive heat. If the lever is off the car, you could try dipping the handle + lever into boiling water and then pushing.
