I'm posting this thread to extend an offer from our very own forum member @eriknetherlands

Erik was kind enough to send me his die for the oval plug dimples in the floor. These occur in three locations. The die worked very well. When I told Erik I was ready to send them back, he suggested I make them available to anyone else in the US first. So feel free to let him or me know that you if you need to press some ovals. As we head into the winter, I imagine a few of us will be working on the floors.

@mulberryworks are you ready yet?

I am happy to ship them to you for free with the promise that you ship them to the next user or back to Erik if nobody needs to use them.

Here is an overview of their use:

Those are excellent tools. Thanks for the offer. I wish I were close to needing them, but the winds of change have shifted and we are preparing to move from our home of 4 years in Florida's NE back to Austin, several houses down from the one we left. The, ahem, "climate" here isn't what we'd hoped and while Austin has its own issues, we have many like-minded friends there and have found a house that better meets our current needs.
I've had my 2800CS for 10 years now, and have driven it less than 40 miles, all of which happened shortly after purchase. However, the car has been moved 4,720 miles since I purchased it on Maui. My hope is this move will finally enable me to render the care the car needs to be a solid, enjoyable ride instead of a garage ornament.

Hello Autokunst,

If it is possible (and Erik agree) I would like to use them. I’m living in The Netherlands, same country as Erik.
I’m working/restore now the trunk and will work forwards and at last the nice fenders. I bought new plates for the floor and can make the original holes with that tool.

Hi Fritzie,
Fantastic. I, too, am happy to see these this beautiful tool get used and make some more perfect dimples in another coupe floor. Please PM my your shipping address and I'll send it off to you.

Just ordered mine from Wolfe … lead time is quite long I guess. Apparently they already have the dimple?

Distances according a original floor (measured from my 3.0 CS with original floor :) ).

The same for the right floor.

And all under the Karmann tolerances!

I ordered some parts from Wolf and promptly returned them for full refund. They didn't resemble the original sheet metal whatsoever. When I told them this, they said their parts are for people to quickly patch over their rusty metal to get back on the road. If I wanted to do that, I would screw a stop sign into the floor.

Anyway, I hope their parts are better now. Good luck!

Good lord I hope so. The others out there are stop signs…these were reviewed by others as the best of the bunch.
