Hypothetically ( and putting aside other EFI /carb options ) what are the implications/benefits, if any, of transferring a D-Jet setup from a 3.0 to a 3.5 litre ?.....maybe someone has done this ? Thanks, Simon

If you are asking about staying with the same installation and changing to 3.5 engine block/head system has to be re-trimmed (fuel/air).

Not sure anyone here was playing with D-Jet electronics.

Basically (I far far from being any kind of expert in this domain) air-fuel ration needs to be changed.

Not sure it is anyhow recommended here to play with D-Jet.

Still keeping OE equipment, Motronic is much more durable and well known = "controllable"

Well there's "looking" like D-jet and then there's D-jet. Unless you're a hardcore masochist, I don't know why you'd want to try and run a real D-jet system (even if you could) . Once you've moved to the 3.5, originality is no longer a concern so build a lookalike system that's dependable and has parts availability....

Which 3.5 litre?
The one with 8;1 compression or 10:1 or 9.3:1?
Seems you would be fuel starved with the D-jet fuel map and 16% more capacity or maybe over fueled with low compression.
Are you planning bigger injectors or higher fuel pressure to compensate for more power potential?
Are you going to use 123 distributor to compensate the timing?

This is not for my car ( I've just had my original engine rebuilt ).I was asked by someone else and knew I would find the answer here . It seems from the responses that it's not a simple 'transplant' . Thanks everyone for your input .

Depending on what 3.5 litre engine it is (M90, M30B34 or M30B35), one option could be running it on L Jet. It would look similar to D Jet at a glance, but might be a bit easier to run (M90s ran L Jet as standard).
