My temperature retard switch has been disconected and the leads have been cut. Can anyone advise which lead belongs to which side looking into the the face of the connector? With the connector angle on top, which side has lead 43 (86 upper left contact) and which has lead 40 (85 lower right contact)?

Thanks!

Ed- I have several Csi d-jet cars in the shop. I'm happy to pin a connector out for you but have never heard of a temperature retard switch. That pic looks like the connector to the cold start relay and the coolant thermo-switch.
Let me know the location of both connectors?

Don, thanks. Manual calls your item 160 "temperature retard switch". Blue book manual item 8. How do I determine which lead is "G" and which lead is "W"? image.jpeg

Ed- better pic please.
Out of focus, can’t read numbers.

As a heads up-from memory there are two diodes in the cold start relay that keep reverse wiring the connector from causing electrical problems. The indicator that the wires are backwards is that the cold start injector won’t operate giving very hard cold starts. I’m having Sunday morning coffee- call me.
I am making beer today so call soon is advised.

Ed- I’ll go into shop after coffee for multi meter and get you the info you want.
