Dash install

I am trying to put my dash back in and have a few questions.

It looks like the upper dash (very top piece that goes the full
width of the dash) was held down to the trim by about 4 spring
clips. The clips look to be guled to the underside of the dash
and fit into rectangular slots. The ends of the dash fit firmly
against the pillars covered by the inside trim that goes
around the headliner.

The dash does not stay against the trim when it is in place.
Has a gap that will bug me.

Question: my clips are missing. what can I use to hold the
dash down to the trim?

I will NEVER remove it again !! How about glue or a BIG nail?

Thanks Roger, I forgot about that one. Looks like it could go back in with out the clips. I will see what other options I can come up with this week.
