De-lamination

Yes. I used devcon clear in the syringe type package before. The 5 minute stuff. It won't take much. You'll need to clean, sand, etc. The use some clamps and peices of wood to spread out the pressure so as to not mark the vinyl. A little goes a long way and watch for the excess... clean it right away before it sets up. If there's a large area, try a portion of the area inside and work your way out to the edge in two steps.
impact glue, that one that needs to be applied in both surfaces, and then wait until it is almost dry, and then join the surfaces and use some clamps
of course previous derusting is needed, remove rust and use some rustconverter prior to gluing
it eventually lasts forever, main uses are shoes, upholstery, rubber,...and so on
there is an special version for high temperatures for use in the engine compartment, as when gluing heat insulation or sound deadening mats
another tip, when i glue those parts, in the areas prone to starting the de-lamination if they are not seen (like the bottom of the glove-box) i attach some rivets using big washers to spread the force

Glove Box ?
Well, down the slippery slope....
Started installing front speakers.... took out the glove box... had repaired the front edge... started on the edge closest to the carpet...
? There seems to have been a rectangular piece of something, inside the box , the floor so to speak with two holes or divits that don't go all the way through to the vinyl... it looks factory not cobbled or stereo.
Anybody know what the heck this may have been?

If you measure the distance between the 2 holes I will see if it matches with the Becker cassette bracket mounted in my glove box floor??
My bracket is 5" wide with hole distance of 4.5" - the mystery continues...maybe a CB or some other period install?

The first thing I had to remove when I got my E9 was the knee panel under the steering wheel..... The wiring was a mess and the ignition switch was bad.....
I have to admit I didn't pay close enough attention to how it was mounted.....
6 months later I drilled out the loose pop rivets holding allthe brackets to the backing steel sheet of this panel...... Mistake #2 not taking pictures of the placement.....Another month later I manage to repair the panel by completely removing the foam and vinyl from the steel...Cleaning the parts and vacuum bagging the 2 back together using gorrilla glue....
Now I need some good detailed pictures of how this panel is installed in the car.....Anybody have any pictures of how this thing goes back together? Usually i can figure it out from the parts catalog pictures but these don't seem to show up at all....

I don't have pictures as once it's installed it doesn't photo well.
1. On the right side is a sheetmetal bracket- a screw attaches it to the left side console near the rear of the same. It's nearly hidden.
2. Where the preformed wire limit is for the fuse cover panel there is another bracket panel on that knob that's held by a screw. Tip- I put the bracket on top of the hole with another screw so it all lines up with the dash.( I replaced my middle panel; so that may be a factor.)
3. The bottom leg is just another sheetmetal screw in to the footwell.
The biggest issue for me was the sheetmetal piano hinge- both of mine were frozen up so make sure you get them working.
