Decent 74 csi in Bay area

anyone familiar with this one?

anyone know if this car in the bay area? thoughts on price? registry says it was purchased last year I believe but seller says he's owned for years...

It was listed on that site as a consignment, apparently didn't sell, although Ben Miller has been known to post cars for sale without the owner's knowledge if he saw it advertised somewhere else.

Ah I see, thanks for the info. In the market for one of these, but want to make sure it's a good example, or if anyone had any info on it. Thanks again!

It's been looked at by qualified people
Appears a bit pricey for the body condition.

Well looking at Hagerty conditions as a #3 car, the value may be closer to the $30K range. I'm sure most if not all of you are familiar with Hagerty valuations, a #3 car is categorized as a solid driver, slight imperfections, but still has a fresh paint job attached to it, or a new correct interior, which this does not have. Also states: "#3 vehicles drive and run well, but might have some incorrect parts. These vehicles are not used for daily transportation but are ready for a long tour without excuses, and the casual passerby will not find any visual flaws. "Good" is the one word description of a #3 vehicle."

So point is this may be between a #3 and #4, but closer to a #4, which is categorized as "#4 vehicles are daily drivers, with flaws visible to the naked eye." But a #4 is valued near the $20K mark, which seems really low. Anyway, I'm interested in a driver, don't mind stuff I can do over time, but I definitely don't want to walk into a basket-case or a bucket of rust that will plague me over time, and will essentially dread my purchase. I would've viewed sooner, but the car isn't available for view until next week. Anyway, I appreciate your guys' feedback, just trying to make an informed decision. :)

It is closer to a #4 but Haggerty's valuations are out of date, a PPI is needed to find out what it might need. If it is as good as the pics appear and it runs strong with no major mechanical needs the price is reasonable.

Yeah Hagerty does seem a little out if date. When the car is ready for view, I'll take a closer look and see about setting up a PPI. The pics look okay to me, except for the chrome fender wells, which to my knowledge was an add on for a CSI correct? Or was this a factory/dealer option of the era? Thanks again for all the input.

Yes this car is still one of our consignments, and you can buy it for less from us than from Craig's List. It's still with its owner, who is a parts customer of ours, but he plans to bring it to us for service in the near future.

We want to set the record straight that we have never posted cars for sale on our website that we haven't been personally requested to post there, by either the owner or the owner's broker. And our consignments are not exclusive, meaning our consignees can always advertise their cars elsewhere while they are posted on our site--which is a free service that we offer to anyone selling a CS.

I'm in the market but the owner is very coy about responding. Tried through Craiglist twice but no response.
