I think they are from an e24, but that model appears to have had many seat options:

Had a photo, but its gone missing.

I think you're right. Someone on bimmerforums posted this amazing link to all things Recaro:

The seats appear to be circa 1984. An LX back with an A cushion. Looks like there were 16 different back options each with 4 different cushion options. Amazing.


Duane, do you have the same somewhat flat A cushion ? How do you like them ?

Those are my seats; I love them. A PO installed them in the 80's along with Simpson seat belts, stahl headers, webers, bigger sway bars, bbs rs wheels, etc... All cool period stuff; I've kept most of it except the seat belts.

Thanks for posting the link to that website. Now that I've already had my Recaro 101 class this morning; I would agree the backs are the LX style but I'm going with the D bases (since my seats have the adjustable thigh support).
