does anyone personally know jranmann from this forum.is post

2800 in Cali

I emailed him through Ebay and asked about it but didn't get a reply. The following day, the auction was down. I tried contacting him through his website but there isn't a link where I could email.
Overall, do you think the car was in the condition that was represented on Ebay? Was it a good deal?
Sometimes, if things seem a little sketchy but aren't, that's the best time to get a good deal because nobody wants to touch it.
Does anybody have contact info for the guy?
If it were stolen, wouldn't the VIN come up as such or does somebody have to run it through the police?
The guy has good feedback on Ebay.
Let's hope it is a good car and that it ends up in somebody's hands who will appreciate it.
Take care

Great thread. Here's my throwdown: try to get some obscure reference to Einstein's life story and the boyhood of Hofmeister into this thread, along with a mention of all the Vietnamese restaurants in Garden Grove and we'll have a winner!

Hey Glenn...
Sometimes an interesting bit or two can be pulled from the seemingly obscure...and actully knowing the other poster can slip the notice of subsequent readers...which indeed is what motivated this thread to begin with...things move a bit slow here on the 'boards', as in Encinitas on Sunday...so cranking up the pace is often thought to draw in more readers and enthusiasts and hence more interesting subjects and variety of perpsective...which IMHO is the key to knowing anything fully...

A. Einstein is mostly obscure to the best of us...for obvious reasons but then so is say, the recent history of the 'Leucadian' beach culture near you in Encinitas (an obscure southern CA beach hamlet)...back when going 'surfing' meant that you'd actually be getting a litte bit wet...!

lol!

PS how's the Thai food down there these days?

Hi from oztralia...............real "sundial country" down here.

What is all this...............lazers of somethin funny goin on? Ethel, get my gun!!!

Can someone explain (In English) what is going on....otherwise I am going to have to declare thread fail.

I think jranman is chaneling the ghost(?) of Art.....
Hey Stan that's an idea, as it was actually Art that let me in originally...back when one needed a formal invite!

jranman,

please post post me directly or call my shop . .Mario VSL

Mario, will comply...

Can someone explain (In English) what is going on....otherwise I am going to have to declare thread fail.

Chicane: What is going on is indeed (as you say) the result of 'thread fail' by the Gentleman that originated this very wild (and what has turned out to be a very fun) exercise in polite wordplay. First he questioned the integrity of a certain Coupe for sale and second questioned my own integrity (by inference) leaving open the question of my personal integrity ... without explaination or further comment...which IMHO is pretty chicken*#)#;

Suffice it to say that I went to examine that Coupe it on his behalf... He evidently didn't like the outcome and unfortunately it was sold out from under him by a brother and sister team of scammers...that somehow themselves do not respect even their own promises...made both to me, him and perhaps others here...

Although I don't really blame shorty for thinking fearful thoughts, once I explained to him what happened and he basically called me a liar, it seems a bit unfair (as I posted and now feel safe to say) that by asking for my bona fides here and then not actually following up any reason as to WHY he was asking the group here that question, he has left us all sitting in this polite internet 'parlour' playing these word (parlour) games and waiting for the other shoe to drop, as it were.

Note: Many thanks to those here that indeed did speak up and mention my sense of open hospitality, accumen and oft proven willingness to help anyone here with anything Coupe related or otherwise, if I could possibly do so.

Suffice it to say that those that do know me well, fully realize that I believe strongly that in life's final accounting, all a man or woman has is his/her word and the rememberance of his/her subsequent deeds of passion, artistic endeavor and intellectual exercise and compassion...for what else is there, really?

So if some of you didn't know me before, I hope you may wish to now and I certainly welcome that opportunity in the future...Indeed we all took a sow's ear and made a silk purse of it on this thread and the ability of us to do that (without anyone casting threats or getting upset) speaks volumes about the quality of people that post here...That's why I remain interested in being here and in also in knowing more of you (and about each of you)...hopefully very soon!

Cheers!
