Like a lot of Bavaria owners, I am cheap, I do not want to spend $400 for one door gasket. My driver's door gasket is worn and torn, has anybody come up with a cheaper solution to cut down on the door noise while driving and when I close the door also? Also are there alternatives to the under-hood gaskets that work well? thanks

I would love a good alternative, too. I'm still a year or so away from finishing my car, but the door seals are going to cost me more than the paint supplies!

my E3's door seals are all dry rotted. the driver side was missing the top lip that makes contact with the car body and seal. I was able to use Permatex gasket maker to fill in the missing part (~3" long). not perfect but works ok. I will share pics later.

for under the hood and trunk gaskets, a member did an excellent research and posted the findings on the forum. I will try to find the link. Basically, you can look into universal trim/flap rubber seals that would do the job. That will be my next thing to work on.

I think sfdon posted that for the under the hood seal. The door seals are different.

The gasket Don posted appears to be $9.00 foot. Just an example, not sure of the similarity to the gasket on one of my Bavaria doors, but I could do one of my four doors for: approx. $75. including tax and shipping in that style.

A friend of mine has a new front passenger side gasket available, at 300€ plus shipping from Germany.
Let me know if you are interested.

Did I miss something on the Steele product number? I typed in WEB-167445 on Steele's site and it didn't find anything...I'm still a little under the weather today, so I might be completely messed up...lol

I found this on Amazon, I ordered it and it took me 20 minutes to pull off the old worn-out weather stripping and install the new one on the driver's door. The door closes nice and tight; I will adjust the latch a little now to make it a little easier to close the door. I worked on it last night around 11 pm in the driveway nice and quiet.

Wow, really? Do you have any pics of how it looks installed? Man, if I could save the fifty billion $ on the door seals, that would be amazing.

I am struggling to understand how the universal seals Don posted could be used in an e3. The e3 door seals mount on the doors themselves unlike an e9. The only place where the similar seal is used is the B pillar. The headliner and A pillar seals are fuzzy felt.

Chris knows best on this- I assumed wrongly that the same seal was used on both.

There are two gaskets one on the door and one on the inside of the car door post. I replaced that gasket with the one I got from Amazon it just slips in place the door mount one is glued on
