door lock knob

question on the door lock knob on top of the door panel. is the standard lock button the black cylindrical piece? the reason i ask is, i know that is how the 2002 is setup ... my knobs have some plastic chrome piece on top of them that reminds me of something that would have come on a 70's GM car.

i wanted to take the metal door trim off (with the door wood mounted on it) and i couldn't get it off of the door lock button ... and couldn't get the door lock knob off either.

any thoughts would be appreciated.

Should simply unscrew from the threaded rod. New knobs are still available, shared with the one series or something like that. You will need to drill out some of the plastic to make them seat seep enough on the threaded rod to be below the upper portion of the door panel. Now I'm looking for the rubber grommet to finish. . . .
