I am doing the usual conversion from an auto to a 265 5 speed. I have an E28 265, the necessary bellhousing and a shifter assembly but I don't have a drive shaft - don't ask.
I know that an E9 manual or auto shaft can be modified and that I should just obtain one of these, E9 drive shafts however are rather scarce in this part of the planet so my question is -
Is there an alternative shaft that will fit?
Bear in mind that I am also installing an uprated ( circa 240 HP ) B35 engine so any alternative shaft will need to bear the brunt of the extra torque.
I have searched for an answer on the forum but couldn't find the info I needed apart from a scarce on detail suggestion to use an E34 525 manual drive shaft.
