Last Saturday the local Alfa Club had a driving event. They invite any other marque that likes to drive. There were 3 BMW's-my 3.0CS, an NK 2000, and a '72 2002 Baur Targa along with 3 Alfa's, a Jaguar, and a Porsche Targa.
We drove Alligator Alley (I-75) to Snake Road and then up to Lake Okeechobee for a nice lunch at a famous fishing place that I have been to many times when I was a tournament Bass fisherman.
The round trip was about 160 miles. The windows were down and the sunroof opened in the morning. The ride home after a fried catfish basket lunch was 85 degrees and the A/C was on.
Pics of the cars are below. Winter is the car show/driving season in Florida.

That Baur is hilarious, like a Subaru Brat with a tonneau cover. I love weird wheels like that. One of our mines is about 30 minutes from where you were in Immokalee. I looked at some mining land out there that borders the reservation -- one can still find some wild orchids here and there even outside of Big Cypress.

The Turk makes me weep with lust and want. What a killer ride.

That's a fun drive, even if much of it is straight roads... interrupted by 90 degree turns. The area around the reservation is interesting and the scenery pure old Florida. Nice gathering!!
