Driver rearview mirror glue?

Finally putting car back together,pull 74 power mirror out of box and the darn glass falls out!Back of mirror has some kind of cheese cloth and traces of beige colored glue.Any suggestions on best adhesive to use?Thanks.

Double stick foam tape would hold it.
Contact cement would do the job.
Your favorite epoxy mitht be best, though.

I'd expect the problem to be finding an adhesive that won't, long term, corrode the reflective backing of the mirror. To that end, a potion without a lot of solvent. This suggests an epoxy, which is 100 percent reactive, no solids present. You could use the five-minute-cure variety for quick(er) results.

I have used 3M Marine adhesive 5200 which has good tensile strength and its flexible.
Not sure about if its appropriate in your application but I have had luck in boat applications.

Had mirror repaired at glass shop. After peeling off old glue impregnated cheesecloth he used RTV silicone caulk to hold mirror to housing.
