This is for mid '73 and later. Cars with the breakers on the kick panel. The idea was that you could lower or raise your windows by opening the driver's door without using your key in the ignition.
In the early E3 the dual contacts had one that tricggered the interior light, the other ran the annoying "you left your key in the ignition" buzzer. You can replace the dual contact switch with a single switch if you use two diodes with the cathode ends going to the single switch contact.
