Driver Side door

The driver side door on my 75 e9 does not stay open and wants to close by its own. What seems to be the problem?

Sounds like the door brake is bad.

Any suggestion for possible fix? What new parts may be needed. I prefer to have all the needed parts before taking the door apart.

One of mine was having a similar issue. This is the door brake part. Make sure that the current one is actually connected to the frame and that someone hasn’t removed the pin, in which case it wouldn’t be doing anything. If connected, then yes it may be broken.

You can use aftermarket Mercedes Benz ones, they are like the original style and pretty cheap, under 25 bucks
