E24 power window switch problems rear windows...

Hi,

sorry if this is the wrong forum for this but can anyone help me with this?

BMW 635csi 1988 USA.

Power switch works in front console for rear windows but rear switch doesnt work at all. I know the switches are ok because I switched them and try them in front console and then they can power up and down. If I try to control front console without having switch in slot located rear close to window then front console doesnt work so car knows if it has switch or not installed.

Does anyone know about this?

Wrong forum. Worth looking at the wiring diagram to understand why the rear affects the console, maybe it goes to a controller that is faulty. Else it has to be wiring problem.
