E3/E9 and others, parts FS

Referring to the under-hood grills in the right corner of the photo above. I have owned Bavarias since the mid-eighties, and E9 coupes since the early-eighties. But only recently did I notice the under-hood grills. They are dainty(not a word commonly used about BMW parts) and fragile, fine grills that sit below the serious hood grills in front of the windshield.

I assume they are meant to trap debris. But why on the Bavaria and not E9s or early 2500 and 2800s? When our local group of Classic BMW owners, The Rocket Dogs, got together recently I could not wait to raise the hood of my '72 Agave Bavaria and proudly point them out to the surprised guys.

Correct me if I am wrong. Please. Won't be the first or last.
They are on my '72 Bavaria. The "slats", bigger grills, on the top of the hood are in a front to back configuration, while the dainty and fragile grills mentioned go below and are mostly in a side to side layout. It seems to create a grid to keep things out of the air intakes.

....some more parts

You and I connected briefly on my headlight and HVAC lid post. I ended up buying a couple used from Al, but I have browsed the site you posted and could very well seek your assistance in the near future. Great resource.
