I am beginning the process of front seat rebuilt and upolstry refresh. Bought the kit from World Upolstry, now Newark Auto. I'll send more pics of their new product and my process for rebuilding the cushion and bolsters as I get deeper into the refresh, but I am a bit stuck at the moment with seat disassembly. Pretty much have the whole thing taken apart except for the separation of the backrest from seat bottom. Only thing holding it together is the forward and back "hinge" shown in pic #4 that is hiding under the chrome trim piece.
My thought is that the chrome trim needs to come out first to get access to the hardware that holds the hinge to the seat frame.
But it appears the trim is corroded to the inner mechanism (pic #1) behind it preventing it from sliding forward? Before I go knocking it with a hammer and damaging it, wanted to get some feedback on this. Thanks!
