E3 Replacement waterpump and fan clutch

First time on here...I have a 71 Bavaria that is getting a 3.5 from an 85 735i. I have the original 5 blade red fan with the old style fan clutch. Does anyone know if there is a water pump/ fan clutch combination that works with the red fan and doesn't interfere with the radiator? If not is there a wp/fan clutch/ fan blade assembly that will fit?

Appreciate any help...thanks

IIRC, on a 3.5 setup the pulley goes on first, then an aluminum projection which (both) are bolted to the water pump flange with 4 bolts. Over the aluminum projection fits the fan clutch/fan and this assy is held in place with a center bolt.

What I did to get more clearance for a fan belt to go between this assy and my 3-row radiator was to machine the aluminum projection back a bit so the fan clutch/fan assy sits a little closer to the water pump, without hitting anything within it's radius.

Worked like a charm, and if I throw a fan belt I won't have to pull the radiator to put a new one on.
