Hello,

Cannot find a definite answer online. Will E34 15x7 ET20 wheels fit an E9?

Thanks!

Stock up front is ET11 so you are moving them inward 9mm which may cause tire to rub on the strut but who knows.

I have 17" x 8" ET 20 style 42 on the front with rolled lips and they just clear the struts. I have a set of 1.5mm spacers but haven't needed them.

There's no reason they wouldn't work. The Styles 2, 3, and 5s in those dimensions are commonly used on E3s, E12s and early E24s which use essentially the same front suspension and there's plenty of room in the rear for them. They are by no means a radical wheel fitment. Also, given the wheels are 7" wide with a +20mm offset, there will be more clearance with the strut than a 7.5 or 8" wheel with a +20mm offset.

I’ve installed them on my car, Style 5, 7”, ET 20 with 205/60 tires. The rims are dated 12/91.
On the rear no problems at all, but without spacers on the front the rim is so close to the shock that you can’t slip a paper sheet between them, and the tires rub the shocks.
At least on the front a spacer is required, and just because I don’t have it, I’ve put back the original wheels/tires assembly.

Where can I find a thin spacer?

Thanks

On my Bav the 16x8 ET23's with 225/55's just barely hit the strut so I put a single 1/2" flat washer behind each lug and that solved the problem.

Thanks guys! Looks like a spacer would be needed up front. I passed on the wheels. Keep saving for a set of 16" BBS!

Thanks!

FGS,

Try Lee Veong at [email protected] for spacers - I bought the last 1.5mm front spacers but he may have done another run. Worth a try. Otherwise I believe he has 3mm spacers which are too much for an 8" wheel (fender lips).

The specific model of tire, tire pressure and profile at the rim must all play a part in clearing the strut. At the factory inflation spec (29psi ?) my left front rubs the paint off and no contact on the right. At 32psi no contact on either and this is ET20 offset.

Thank you for the tip.

My wheels are 7” wide and 3mm spacers wouldn’t generate clearance problems; the problem is about those wheel studs so short: I suspect that with a 3mm spacer there wouldn’t be enough thread to fix the nuts properly.
