I know this is not the place to properly do this, but if any of you guys need any parts from a 120k mile M5 let me know. The car is decent all over.

Figured I should have put the "clause" in there:).... Wanted transmission buyers to be able to come see and drive it before removing.

I still can't believe you are parting it out! For the greater good I suppose.

You should be able to get about $1,100 or so for the throwing stars, not including rubber. I've actually seen a number of them on coupes without the covers.

so you are selling the 280? That should do well also.

For the S38. I have had several inquiries on the complete car minus the engine. People want them for LS swaps. I would rather do that as I am not in the wrecking yard business.

Could except its a V8 model. I had searched nationwide at all wrecking yards and private sellers for an S38 engine. Either they had 200k miles and reasonable or rebuilt with no wiring, computer, airbox, etc for ridiculous money. This was the best way to get my moneys worth and I know exactly what I have as far as quality of parts, etc.

very exciting gary if you need any help on seting up or installing im your guy as i just did mine with a brand new one
11:1 compression

Gary , i had a S38 in my rally E9 but changed back to a M30... missed some torque in the lower revs and had 286HP... due a simulator box you need to replace the differential signal which you don't have in a E9 . And that always went "broke". I believe it's a signal the ECU needs to know the car is driving.... so you can't over rev it standing still.

That's the one i used.... but broke ... and another one...

What type of signal is the S38 ECU looking for? Square wave or pulses per ? Possibly just program out that safeguard while I am deleting emissions and other stuff?

succes !!! i hope to see you back.... don't underestimate those guys at Kempower.. many had the same issue with track cars swap S38.... just don't know why it's that difficult to give the fake signal....

see you !

Why not go with a standalone management system and save the hassle of the OE BMW electronics?

Considering the Megasquirt system and the AlphaN from Miller. Have not decided yet. It is not difficult to emulate pretty much any speed type signal though, especially with todays technology.
