E9 CSL Alpina B2

Well, I'm certainly no CSL or Alpina expert but it looks stunning. I don't care for the front air dam though, looks out of place. I have seen those wheels and they are very rare, again not my favorites.

ya, put on a regular CSL front spoiler, 16" Alpinas, remove the chrome fenders, and add Bat Wing and wind splits and that's how ALL of them should have came from the factory!

My dream coupe hands down, way cooler than a BAT imho. I'd get up at 5am and drive it.

That was Yannick's. I have not seen it in person but I have seen many photos of its restoration. It is a stunning car, restored by one of the most knowledgeable people around. Expect it to be very pricey.

Here is along thread documenting the resto

The Alpina B2S CSL I have seen is close to being completed last time I saw it (About a year or so ago)_ Most of the bodywork was done. It will be Yellow when completed.. It had a rear spoiler and the same rims. The Alpina intake was of a different design (earlier model) and is lighter than this cast aluminum piece.

Wow. If that thought isn't torturous enough, please tell the masochists here what you would do to a pristine 911 S/T.

Anyone have details on wheels?

Ive seen them on a handful of coupes online. Most of the Alpina three piece racing wheels have spaces between the spokes. I've examined the three piece Alpinas up close. The alpina wheels aren't as sharp looking as Weds / H&B's, but they are the original design and meant for racing. I'm not sure if they are magnesium
or not but they look like it.

A tad more info:

Thanks for the information. I love them, the Alpinas are far prettier (and fancier) than the WEDS.

They are 3 piece, similar to BBS. The centers are magnesium and the outers are spun aluminum. The racing Group 2 wheels were 15" diameter, 11" wide in front and 12-13" in back and of course street wheels were much narrower. Alex Elliot makes reproductions which are indistinguishable from the originals (as they should be, since the molds were taken from originals). You really don't want to race on old magnesium!

Here are photos from the FIA homologation document of BBS and Alpina 3-piece wheels for Group 2.
