E9-driven.com website status

It is possible who ever setup the e9-driven site still has the "app" running on a server somewhere and s/he just let the e9-driven.com domain name registration expire.

The "app" functionality in this site was very helpful. You could be referencing a repair process with pictures and drill into more detailed related steps. I have an email into Carl @ La Jolla to see if they still have CDs available for sale. The dealer replied with a NLA which is bad karma in my book. It would cost BMW nothing to host this information and would be a great symbol of their commitment to product support. How does BMW figure I'm going to want to by one of their new cars when the longevity of their support isn't good and there are so many cool cars in BaT :). My German friends tell me the German auto industry is ailing, but it seems to me they've suffering from their own bad decisions.... just like what happened to Detroit.

You can view quite a bit of the E9 online manual using different captures on archive.org. Any idea how to copy the content easy enough to want to do it? The host for e9-driven.com server files has expired and I'm considering it gone.

I’ve also been using wayback for e9-driven. l will see if that is an option.

Unfortunately the wasn’t our site. The domain is dead and the site is down. Dan and I are both pretty technical but these files are squashed.
 
Following up on this. Like many, I have the blue books but sure is more convenient to see them electronically sometimes.

The exact content presented in the exact same way (via browser) is available in download form (560 MB) for 10 Euro here: https://sellfy.com/solopdf/p/Zlxf/

I purchased it and can attest it is the exact same content on both English and German language versions. The one time charge provides you with 10 downloads and I have 5 remaining in my account that anyone here can use via this link. 1st come 1st served...

I'm not a software copyright expert but given they are selling it for a very reasonable price I would encourage us NOT to upload it or otherwise freely distribute it. I imagine there might be some problems with that.

I think relying on a local dealer doesn't work so well for me with a dealer whose parts guys aren't convinced my car even exists. I think Carl or Paul Wegweiser at Maximillion are the folks to call to help figure out what's really in the system.

Otherwise, the dealerships which have been helpful to me in varying degrees for E9 parts have been South Atlanta, Monterrey, Stratham, and one in Pennsylvania I can't recall right now, maybe Lancaster? I've ordered from St. Louis before with mixed results--website is behind their inventory, so sometimes you get some parts, and they don't tell you until you get the package or the shipping confirmation with the packing list. Maybe there should be a thread to identify BMW dealerships with useful parts departments.

I'm all for not getting involved with copyright issues but I can't imagine that the site selling those online versions have the rights either. If someone stored the manual on their Google Drive and we linked to it, I doubt we'd have any issues. I think that's how it was in the past.

Luis,

My antivirus software didn't like that file. Probably just because it can execute connections to the web and outside of the file. I also have everything turned up pretty high, but it essentially said, "no way."
